Give Your Time

There are always regular needs around the barn! Here are some ongoing ways you can volunteer your time just once, or regularly, in helpful ways, both big and small! If you think of anything else you might like to do to help, we are always open to suggestions!

  • spray weed killer in the arena
  • spray weed killer under fence lines
  • spray weed killer around the barn and in parking area
  • use weed trimmer below fence lines
  • mow a horse field
  • drag the riding arena
  • dump the manure spreader
  • sweep the bathroom, tack room, storage stall
  • clean bathroom surfaces
  • visit between 11AM and 2PM any day to give lunch to our needier horses
  • volunteer to fetch/hold horses for the farrier (1-2 options per month)
  • use broom or duster to remove cobwebs from stall fronts
  • drive riders to and from the barn (many time and location options)
  • pick up monthly horse feed
  • help unload monthly horse feed
  • help unload hay bales
  • move jumps and poles in the riding arena
  • volunteer as a substitute for evening chores
  • help regular leader with evening chores (any day)
  • clean manure out of two outdoor horse shelters
  • groom horses who don’t have as many regular visitors
  • launder saddle pads or rags at home; return within about a week
  • take a bag of trash to the dump
